Biography
Jessica Wise is a classical/opera singer, teacher, and trainee Music Therapist.
Currently studying under Janice Chapman at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Jessica begun her professional journey singing for the Ruse State Opera in Bulgaria. Now based in London, she works as a freelance soloist while training to become a qualified Music Therapist.
Jessica holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Vocal and Operatic Performance (Distinction) at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. During her time here, she won several awards, including the Ashleyan Opera Prize, Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize, Edward Brooks Lieder Prize, and the Weingarten Scholarship, which allowed her to study at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. She has sung in venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Birmingham Town Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, Birmingham Cathedral, Arundal Cathedral, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Nationaltheater Mannheim, NWK Sofia and Sofia Opera House.
With the Ruse State Opera Bulgaria and the Europa Chor Akademie, she has toured France, Germany, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Roles include Clorinda from La Cenerentola (Barefoot Opera), Gretel from Hansel and Gretel, Antonia from The Man of La Mancha (national tour, Bulgarian State Opera Ruse), Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro (Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Germany), Morgana Alcina, Musetta La Boheme and Pamina Die Zauberflöte.
In 2021 Jessica created the role of Emele in Oxfordshire Contemporary Opera's production of @Emele.
